MHCAM dosen’t have a dedicated photography space, so we have more of a guerilla relationship with them. We take over their study room during college breaks and, with the full support of their staff we push through as many objects as we can. Our sessions usually last seven to nine days and it is always a joy to work there. We have also consulted with the museum and Digital Asset Preservation Services (DAPS) at MHC to create an in-house photography workflow that seamlessly integrates digital files into the broader, college-wide archiving plan. To date, we have photographed thousands of objects for MHCAM. During our most recent project we photographed recent acquisitions, Skinner Museum objects, permanent collection artwork, and objects for inclusion in two upcoming book projects.
