Our Story
Pivot Media was founded in 1999 by photographer Jim Gipe. Originally a photojournalist who worked for regional newspapers for over a decade, Jim Gipe made the jump to self-employment in 1998 when he sold his darkroom and purchased the Eversmart Scitex Scanner. The ability to make digital files from film and print was groundbreaking, and work quickly followed. Photographers, museums and institutions recognized the value of digitizing their assets and collections. Since then, Pivot Media has stayed at the forefront of the digital revolution, maintaining a state-of-the-art digital imaging, fine art printing, and photography studio in Florence, Massachusetts
